Children and the Arts
The Prince of Wales Children & the Arts Foundation has provided the Ulster Orchestra with funding to work with 120 young people throughout 2007/08. The workshops will begin early 2008 and continue through to May 2008. The schools will attend a number of Ulster Orchestra concerts throughout the 2008 season.
Aims and objectives for the work:
- To give people who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity the chance to experience, enjoy and interact with classical music.
- To break down the barriers to the classical music experience and will encourage children to enjoy music.
Outline of experiences to be provided:
- Each school will receive three workshops by a professional musician.
- A tour of the venue.
- Each school will attend an informal family concert and a formal Friday night concert.
