Community
The Ulster Orchestra has been working within the community for many years. With special reduced ticket prices, open rehearsals and Come & Play events, the Orchestra is accessible to all members of the community regardless of age and ability. The Orchestra continues to be a vital community resource, both inside and outside the classroom, offering an array of programmes, projects and schemes designed to meet the needs of teachers, pupils and members of the public.
Events such as Come & Play give people the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a musician. About 100 amateur musicians join the Orchestra for an afternoon rehearsal and short evening performance. The student stand-by scheme gives students the opportunity to buy tickets for Ulster Orchestra concerts at the reduced rate of £3.
